Derek John Rogers brings 15 years of professional experience advising and partnering with nonprofit organizations on fundraising and development. He has worked with more than 100 organizations of all sizes and missions across the country, delivering hands-on support throughout the development lifecycle.

Before founding his consulting practice in 2020, Derek spent nearly a decade at Orr Group, serving the nonprofit sector. There, he served as a project lead for clients including DC Central Kitchen, Obama Foundation, Whitman-Walker Health, Elizabeth Dole Foundation, and Washington Nationals Philanthropies.

Derek is known for his strategic thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and disciplined project management. He doesn't just advise — he rolls up his sleeves and works alongside his clients to strengthen development strategy, build fundraising infrastructure, and foster deeper, more impactful donor relationships.

Derek also partners with fellow consultants who serve the nonprofit sector — stepping in as a trusted extension of their team to deliver senior-level fundraising expertise on client engagements.

Based in Washington, DC, Derek lives in Logan Circle with his partner and their dog, Daisy. When he's not working with clients, you can find him exploring a new U.S. state each year — most recently, Alabama — or spending time in New England, where he grew up.
